One&Only Resorts has announced the appointment of established industry leader Ed Brea as general manager, One&Only Hayman Island in the Great Barrier Reef, Australia. In his new role, Brea is responsible for the entire operation of One&Only Hayman Island and its continued strategic development.

“I am thrilled to have Ed join One&Only Resorts at this exciting time of growth,” commented Mark DeCocinis, president, One&Only Resorts.

“Australia is extremely important to us, especially as we continue to develop in the region.

Brea joins One&Only with over 30 years’ experience in the luxury hospitality industry, including key positions at prestigious hotel brands Hyatt and Shangri-La. He started his career in the early 1980s at the Hyatt Regency Maui in Hawaii where he worked in a variety of roles throughout food and beverage.

 

He continued to develop within Hyatt, with further roles in the Philippines, Australia and Singapore and then was appointed resident manager at Grand Hyatt Taipei in 1999.
