New leadership for American Airlines in Hong Kong

American Airlines has appointed Thomas Scruby as commercial director of Hong Kong and offline markets (Macau, Taiwan, Southern China and South East Asia).

Based in Hong Kong, Scruby will oversee all sales and commercial activities for American Airlines across these markets.

He joins American from oneworld partner LATAM Airlines Group where he served as Asia commercial director, overseeing the development of commercial strategy for Hong Kong and pan-Asia markets.

Prior to that, he was the head of commercial airline representation at Hello World Travel Group in Australia, where he gained channel and corporate sales account management experience.

In addition, he also previously worked with British Airways for 11 years in different roles including revenue and pricing management, market analysis and operational research.

“We are delighted that Thomas has taken on this important role,” said Erwan Perhirin, vice president of Asia Pacific, American Airlines.

“With his extensive experience, proven track record and in-depth knowledge of the aviation industry, we are confident that Thomas will be able to grow American’s business and strengthen our presence in the region.”

Scruby will take responsibility for developing commercial strategies and looking after Hong Kong and Macau, Taiwan, Southern China and south-east Asia.
