Half Moon Resort breaks partnership with RockResorts

Effective immediately, Half Moon Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica will no longer operate under the management of RockResorts, a subsidiary of Vail Resorts, Inc.

The change in management comes following a mutual decision between Half Moon Bay, the owners of Half Moon Resort, and RockResorts following a five-year partnership.

Both parties agreed to terminate the contract following RockResorts’ decision to change strategy, shifting their primary focus to the company’s mountain lodge properties.

The owners, who have owned Half Moon Resort since inception over 62 years ago, are excited about the opportunity to once again manage and operate the resort independently under the leadership of the general manger, Sandro Fabris.

The owners have a dynamic vision for the future of the resort and those plans will be announced in the coming months.

Spread across 400 acres of lush, tropical grounds, the five-star Half Moon resort offers guests access to two miles of private beach, wrapped around a half-moon-shaped bay.

Located on the site of the historic Rose Hall sugar plantation, the resort houses four restaurants, including the recently refurbished Sugar Mill Restaurant – one of the most renowned fine dining establishments in Jamaica.

Catering to the active guest, Half Moon offers an array of activities, including a golf academy at the resort’s 18 hole championship golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., the Fern Tree tennis programme, water sports, deep sea fishing and an equestrian centre with dressage, show jumping and a mini-polo field.
