United Airlines reports it will be expanding its premium dining services for its United First and United Business customers beginning February 1.
The airline says it will be adding several items to the menu in order to offer customers a wider variety of choices. The new options will only be available on mainline flights in the U.S., Canada, the Caribbean and select markets in Mexico.
The expanded menu was created by United Airlines’ chefs and focuses on the cuisine of several major cities in North America.
New selections on short flights are set to include new breakfast breads and 25 new premium snacks on flights later in the day. Flights under four hours will also provide new breakfast options, including steel-cut oatmeal, French toast soufflé, Greek yogurt and fresh fruit.
On longer flights, an expanded entrée menu will provide items such as “baked lobster macaroni and cheese,” “skillet style scrambled eggs with pepper jack cheese,” and a “chicken and sausage jambalaya.”
The airline is also introducing a new multi-course meal service on transcontinental and Hawaii flights that will offer “tamale-stuffed chicken and roasted red and yellow tomatoes” and sorbet or gelato for desert.
United Airlines says it plans to further invest in its dining service beginning in March, serving prepared meals on chinaware in place of the current snack boxes.
