TAP set to launch Airspace by Airbus cabin brand

TAP, the leading airline to Portugal from the UK, has signed an agreement to become the first airline to operate the new A330neo airliner, and therefore also become the launching carrier to fly the Airspace by Airbus cabin brand.

Passengers will be able to experience the highly anticipated new Airspace by Airbus cabin when these aircraft enter service at the end of 2017.

The Airspace by Airbus cabin ambience ensures ultimate passenger comfort, while the signature details and iconic elements will be recognisable throughout the cabin.

Features will include a new welcome area and the latest mood LED-based lighting system with 16.7 million possible colour variations.

Also included are larger overhead bins, new contemporary lavatories, and latest-generation in-flight entertainment and connectivity.

TAP is an all Airbus fleet carrier with 61 aircraft in service.

Two additional A330s will enter service in June 2016 to support the expansion of the company’s long haul operations.

TAP has also placed orders for the latest generation of A320neo and A330neo Families.

The first deliveries of the two new members of the Airbus family, A330-800neo and the A330-900neo, are scheduled to start at the end of 2017.

In addition to its new Airspace cabin interior, the A330neo also incorporates latest generation Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines and aerodynamic enhancements.

The A330neo reduces fuel consumption by 14 per cent per seat, making it the most cost efficient, medium range wide-body airliner.
