Vienna has announced it achieved a record in 2014 with 13,524,000 visitor overnights – a result for the year that exceeds 2013's previous record by 6.3 percent.
Here's a breakdown of the data:
“International bednights account for around 82% of Vienna's total volume of bednights. This not only reflects Vienna's continued attractiveness, but also shows that our long-term systematic internationalization strategy diversifying into many different markets is paying off,” said Norbert Kettner, managing director of the Vienna Tourist Board.
His objective now is to increase Vienna's overnight figures to 18 million by the year 2020.
