Las Alcobas, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Mexico City, has become a member of the Starwood Hotels Luxury Collection. The opening of Las Alcobas is an example of Starwood’s expansion in Latin America. The company now has a portfolio of 94 hotels in Latin America and the Caribbean and plans to build an additional 15 properties by 2017.

“The rapid growth of Starwood’s luxury brands in Mexico reflects a robust demand for high-end hospitality from an increasingly affluent market. This opening reaffirms Mexico’s position as Starwood’s largest market in Latin America and demonstrates our commitment to accelerate growth in the region,” said Jorge Giannattasio, senior vice-president and chief of Latin America and Caribbean operations, Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

Las Alcobas has 35 guestrooms and suites created by the interior design firm Yabu Pushelberg. The rooms and the property pay homage to Mexican culture and have touches of contemporary art and design.

Chef Justin Ermini will be at the helm of the signature restaurant, Anatol, which will have a casual but chic atmosphere. Las Alcobas is within walking distance of luxury boutiques, art galleries, and attractions like the Auditorio Nacional and the Modern Art Museum.

Las Alcobas, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Mexico City, will open in 2016.
