Quasar Expeditions has announced three new itineraries in South America for 2015.
The latest additions to the company’s portfolio include the Galapagos & Andean Ecuador Wellness Explorer, Winter Puma Tracking in Patagonia and, in the works for later this year, an Amazon Riverboat and Luxury Andean Train experience in Ecuador.
Quasar’s Galapagos & Andean Ecuador Wellness Explorer
In partnership with the Sacha Ji Wellness Hotel and Retreat, this itinerary allows travelers to experience meditation, yoga, hikes, sea kayaking, snorkeling and more. After several days at Sacha Ji, guests board the M/Y Grace, named after her late owner, Her Serene Highness Princess Grace of Monaco. Guests will participate in yoga and meditation sessions both on board the yacht as well as on the actual Galapagos sites. The Sacha Ji therapist will also be on board to assist with massage therapies, as well as Quasar’s Galapagos National Park guides.
The Galapagos & Andean Ecuador Wellness Experience is 10 nights / 11 days and pricing starts at $10,055 per person, based on double occupancy. Departures set sail in Q4 2015.
Winter Puma Tracking Safaris
Quasar has partnered with two puma trackers on a Jeep Overland Safari that allows travelers to track wild pumas in their natural habitat. April through September in Patagonia provides blue skies and very little wind, making winter temperatures very manageable. The huanacos (a type of llama) come down from the hills to avoid the snowline and congregate by bodies of water. Their major predator, the Andean Puma, follows its prey closely and is often hunting in the middle of the day, allowing Quasar guests the opportunity to see them. Travelers also experience Patagonian sites, including National Parks Torres del Paine and Sarmiento Lake, while in search of the pumas. There is also a chance to spot a series of other wildlife including foxes, skunks, armadillos and the Geoffrey’s cat.
Travelers have the option of a six-day or nine-day puma tracking itinerary. Pricing starts at $6,550 per person, per group (6-8 pax) and $7,150 per person, based on double occupancy. Puma tracking will be available beginning April 15 – September 15, 2015.
Coming Soon: Essential Ecuador; Amazon Riverboat and Luxury Andean Train Experience
The trip begins in Ecuador’s cacao producing region, travels up through the cloud forests to the country’s tundra, and back down to Quito. Guests then embark on a riverboat cruise in the Amazon.
The Essential Ecuador experience is 11 nights / 12 days and pricing starts at $4,399 per person, based on double occupancy.
