Lufthansa has begun serving Los Angeles International Airport with its flagship aircraft— the Airbus A380— one of the world’s most technologically advanced and largest passenger aircraft.
Aboard Lufthansa’s A380, customers will experience the airlines’ newest cabin products with the latest interior designs in all travel classes, including Lufthansa’s brand new Premium Economy Class that debuted in late 2014.
Flight LH456 departs Frankfurt at 10:05 and arrives at Los Angeles International Airport at 12:40.
The return flight, LH457, leaves Los Angeles at 15:10 and arrives in Frankfurt at 11:10 the following day (all times local).
“Lufthansa will significantly enhance passengers’ travel experiences this year,” said Juergen Siebenrock, vice president of the Americas at Lufthansa German Airlines.

“By the third quarter, all Lufthansa long-haul aircraft will be upgraded with the latest cabins and state-of-the-art seats in every travel class.
“We are excited that LAX is one of the destinations where Lufthansa is already offering its newest products and services to its customers.”
For more than 40 years, Lufthansa, currently located within the Tom Bradley International Terminal, has proudly served Los Angeles International Airport.
Los Angeles is Lufthansa’s fifth A380 destination in the United States and it’s eleventh worldwide.
The airline also currently flies its flagship aircraft to New York City, Houston, San Francisco and Miami.
The Airbus A380 is one of the world’s most fuel-efficient aircraft, burning about 12 per cent less fuel than other wide-body jets, and is approximately 30 per cent quieter than the current generation of wide-body aircraft.
Lufthansa’s A380 is configured with 509 seats and features the airline’s new First Class product.
Located on the upper deck, this space is the quietest cabin in commercial aviation and boasts an air humidification system – the first of its kind to be installed on a commercial aircraft – that improves air humidity to help fight off jet lag.
Also located on the upper deck is the award-winning Business Class cabin with 78 seats featuring improved functionality, including more storage and a power supply that works with all worldwide connections.
The main deck is home to Lufthansa’s new Premium Economy class, where 52 seats are situated in the forward most compartment of the A380’s main deck.
In addition to more private space with up to 50 percent more legroom, Premium Economy allows guests to travel with two pieces of luggage weighing 51 lbs. each.
On board, every passenger is greeted with a welcome drink. In-flight meals are presented on menu cards and served on fine chinaware.
Premium Economy passengers will also find a high-end amenity kit at their seats which includes practical travel accessories, an electrical plug and a bottle of water. In addition, passengers can also enjoy the diverse range of in-flight entertainment on a large screen in the seat in front of them.
For an extra $27, passengers can relax in the comforts of the Lufthansa Business Lounges prior to their departure.
The Economy Class cabin is also found on the main deck. Each of its 371 seats features an in-seat video screen, an optimized ergonomic design and a slimmer seat back that adds two inches of personal space per passenger.
