ITB Berlin 2015: Largest Hampton by Hilton to open in Berlin

As the tourism industry descends on Germany for ITB Berlin, Hilton Worldwide today announced that it has signed an agreement to open its largest Hampton by Hilton hotel to date, in the centre of the city.

With 344 guest rooms and a prime city centre location, Hampton by Hilton Berlin Alexanderplatz is slated to open in early 2018.

The hotel is being developed under a franchise agreement with Interstar Hotel, which owns and operates a number of hotels across Germany.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, Europe & Africa, Hilton Worldwide said: “We remain focused on expanding our economy and mid-market portfolio in key gateway cities across Europe, and 2014 saw Hilton Worldwide introduce substantial Hampton by Hilton properties in destinations including London, Warsaw and Istanbul, to name a few.

“This latest hotel will add substantially to our economy presence in central Berlin – a city which attracted 28.7 million overnight stays in 2014 alone, thanks to its fundamental appeal as a business and leisure destination.”

The new hotel continues Hampton by Hilton’s growth in key urban locations across Europe, and joins more than 90 hotels trading or under development in the region.

Hampton by Hilton Berlin Alexanderplatz is situated less than 400 metres from the popular Aleksanderplatz square, in the heart of Berlin and the German capital’s prime business district.

Guests at the hotel will have excellent access to the Berlin’s transport network, with a tram station directly in front of the hotel and S-Bahn and underground stations both within walking distance.

Phil Cordell, global head, focused service and Hampton brand management, Hilton Worldwide, said: “The signing of our largest-ever Hampton by Hilton hotel in Berlin, which closely follows our recent milestone of reaching 2,000 hotels trading worldwide, is a true testament to its broad appeal internationally.

“Hampton by Hilton’s friendly service and great value have been fundamental to its growth, and its modern aesthetic appeals to today’s travellers, who are keen to visit new destinations and stay with a trusted global brand.”

Hampton by Hilton has proven popular among guests and owners since its introduction into Europe less than a decade ago.

Serving value conscious, quality-driven guests is core to its philosophy, along with the provision of consistent amenities, such as complimentary Wi-Fi and a hot breakfast included in the room rate.
