With the potential threat of Tropical Storm Erika now out of the way, the Florida Keys tourism industry is once again welcoming visitors for the upcoming Labor Day Weekend with several national parks reopening and a number of events and festivities back on schedule.
The National Park Service has reopened Everglades National Park and scheduled Dry Tortugas National Park to open Tuesday, September 1. Both were temporarily closed as a precaution due to Tropical Storm Erika. |
All other Florida Keys infrastructure and tourism facilities are operating normally.

Military, fire rescue, police and medical personnel will be honored at Hawks Cay Resort near Marathon with the celebration set to include an American-style barbecue, a live concert and a fireworks show.
Other September events include Womenfest Key West, the Key Largo to Key West Cycle Challenge, Phil Peterson's Key West Poker Run, Islamorada's Swim for Alligator Lighthouse and REEF Fest 2015 in Key Largo.
