CityJet and Stobart Air have signed a partnership agreement, both airlines announced today.
Commencing on December 1st 2014, Stobart Air will operate short-haul ATR regional aircraft on CityJet’s Cardiff to Edinburgh route – which is offered twice daily – and its Cardiff to Paris route, operating once a day.
Following market evaluation of numerous providers to operate its Cardiff routes, CityJet has chosen to work with Stobart Air based on its excellent reputation and value proposition.
Stobart Air operates ATR 42 and ATR 72 aircraft, providing CityJet with a flexible offering to passengers flying out of Cardiff to Scotland and France.
CityJet carries over one million passengers each year across its European network and thousands of passengers each month from Cardiff.
The new partnership is the third such deal for Stobart Air, with the airline now operating routes to and from Ireland, the UK, France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.
Commenting on the partnership, CityJet chief executive Christine Ourmières said: “I am delighted to announce this partnership between two Irish companies. CityJet shares many key values with Stobart Air, including providing customers with an exceptional travel experience, and we are looking forward to developing our offering with them into the future.
“This partnership allows us to continue to work with our partners at Cardiff Airport to provide a quality service to passengers on key routes, connecting Wales with major European cities – Paris and Edinburgh.”
