Snow and sunshine dominate the weather outlook for British Airways’ customers looking to get away as the airline’s winter 2015 schedule starts at the end of the month.
From October 25th the winter season kicks off with a new service to the dramatic volcanic landscape of Iceland while the skiing-mecca of Salzburg gets two new flights from Gatwick and Glasgow in December.
Winter sun-seekers can also warm themselves thanks to new flights to Valencia on the Spanish coast in November, while holidaymakers can avoid the February gloom when the airline starts flights from Gatwick to colourful Porto, in Portugal.
Lynne Embleton, British Airways director of strategy, said: “Our customers can choose from enjoying a traditional winter on the slopes or soaking up the warm winter sun instead, thanks to the start of a flurry of new short-haul routes for winter 2015.
“With the added convenience of flights to Salzburg departing from Glasgow and Gatwick, there are plenty of options for customers to choose from to make their winter break a great end to 2015 or stunning start to 2016!”

As famous for skiing and as it is for being the home of the Von Trapps in classic film ‘The Sound of Music’, customers can fly twice a week to enjoy Salzburg from Heathrow from December 5th and Glasgow once per week from December 12th.
Flights to icy but cosmopolitan Reykjavik will depart three times a week from Heathrow from October 25th, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Meanwhile, winter sunshine is just a short hop away when four flights a week to Valencia from Gatwick, start from November 6th and four times week to Portugal’s second city, Porto, from February 11th, next year.
