AM Resorts
La Romana, Dominican Republic

AMResorts, an Apple Leisure Group subsidiary, continues to reaffirm its standing as one of North America’s fastest-growing luxury leisure resort company after expanding its presence in key destinations, entering new markets and growing its portfolio by 20 percent with five new resorts in 2014.

This growth was coupled with the launch of a new agent rewards program, a focus on sustainability and community outreach, as well as more award wins. In 2015, AMResorts is focusing on continued growth in the Caribbean with the openings of Dreams Dominicus La Romana and Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya. The company will also welcome Breathless Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa, Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort and Dreams Buenaventura Panama in 2016.

“This continued expansion is only the beginning of what is in store for AMResorts in 2015 and beyond,” said Gonzalo del Peon, president of AMResorts, in a written release. “Strategic growth and the right mix of destinations and product will further propel AMResorts to the forefront of the all-inclusive industry.”

In 2015 and 2016, AMResorts will continue to focus on growing its presence in the Caribbean, the future of the all-inclusive sector, as well as in Central America.

The company will expand its presence in the Dominican Republic this summer with the opening of its eighth resort on the island, Dreams Dominicus La Romana. Clients will be able to enjoy the popular destination of La Romana as well as visit the nearby island of Saona, a government protected natural reserve.

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya, a 425-room adults-only resort located on Akumal Beach, is set to open in November 2015. Scheduled to open in March 2016, Breathless Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa is the second hotel under AMResorts new Breathless Resorts & Spas brand of all-adult, unlimited-luxury resorts appealing to sophisticated singles, couples and friends. The 500-room hotel will be located a short 15-minute drive from Cancun International Airport.

Located in an exclusive community of luxury villas and high-end resorts minutes away from Rio Hato International Airport, the 450-suite Dreams Buenaventura Panama offers views of gardens, lagoons, a white sand beach and the 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Design par-72 championship golf course. Dreams Buenaventura will be managed under AMResorts' Dreams Resorts & Spas luxury family-friendly resort brand, is slated for completion in 2016 and will mark the company’s entry into a seventh country.

Upon completion, these newest additions will take the grand total of AMResorts’ branded hotels to 41 with more than 16,000 rooms in 21 markets across Mexico, Costa RicaCuracao, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, the United States and Panama.
