Hilton’s new lifestyle hotel brand, Canopy by Hilton, has announced plans for a new hotel in Chicago.
Slated to open in fall 2018, the Canopy by Hilton Chicago Loop will draw design cues from Chicago’s downtown neighborhood. It will have an entrance on La Salle Street with its reception area, restaurant, bar and Canopy Central Lobby on the building’s 20th level. Other amenities will include a fitness center, a day transfer lounge, 4,000 square feet of meeting space, and a rooftop terrace and bar.
Guests will have two complimentary choices for breakfast: in the Canopy Central lobby, or a Canopy Breakfast Bag delivered to their room. Each evening, complimentary wine and beer tastings will be held in the Canopy Central lobby.
The hotel will be a conversion of the top four floors of the historic landmarked building by Daniel Burnham at 208 S. LaSalle, which also houses the new 610-key JW Marriott with its entrance at 161 W. Adams. Canopy’s room will have an average of 480 square feet, wood floors, 60” HDTVS and large bathrooms with walk-in showers and private toilet compartments, as well as many one and two-bedroom corner suites.
The Loop neighborhood is home to 100 restaurants, galleries, and boutiques and numerous subway and elevated rapid transit stations. The Canopy’s staff, known as “Enthusiasts,” will lead guests to popular neighborhood attractions including Millennium Park, Grant Park, State Street, which hosts a historic shopping district, the Art Institute of Chicago, once the tallest building in the world, Willis Tower and its Observation Skydeck, and the theaters and restaurants within a 10 minute walk of the hotel.
Travelers can also enjoy artwork from local artists, traditional and locally-sourced food an drink, and destination-specific welcome gifts.
