Emirates brings A380 flights to Perth, Australia

Emirates has expanded the network of destinations served by its highly-popular A380 aircraft with the launch of the first A380 service into Perth, Australia.

Perth is the fourth Australian city to welcome a regular Emirates Airbus A380 service, with the revolutionary double-decker aircraft set to transport up to 982 passengers in-bound and outbound daily between Perth and Emirates’ hub, Dubai.

“Emirates is pleased to introduce the first A380 service into Perth.

“The A380 is a state-of-the-art aircraft offering our flagship product in all three classes, and we look forward to providing this outstanding experience to our Perth passengers as well as to international visitors flying into this vibrant city,” said Barry Brown, Emirates divisional senior vice president, commercial operations east.

“The fact we now offer A380 services into four Australian cities is a testament to the strong global demand for travel into Australia, a premier tourist location and key destination on our global network.

“The addition of the Perth A380, as well as our partnership with Qantas, offers more Australians the opportunity to experience some of our European and American destinations on a seamless A380 journey through Dubai International Airport’s Concourse A, the world’s first purpose built A380 terminal,” added Brown.

Together with partner airline Qantas, a total of seven daily A380 services now operate from Australia to Dubai with onward connections to Emirates’ global network of more than 140 destinations.

In line with the arrival of the A380, Emirates is also further investing into the West Australian market with an expanded lounge at Perth Airport.
Set to open later this year, the lounge will offer increased capacity in order to cater for the passenger numbers that will be travelling on the A380.

Emirates was the first airline to place an order for the iconic A380, and is today the world’s largest operator of this efficient and spacious aircraft, with 60 in the fleet and 80 on order.

Emirates’ Perth A380 service operates daily as EK420 departing Dubai at 02:55 and arriving at Perth International Airport at 17:35 the same day.

The return flight, EK421, will depart Perth at 22:10 and arrives in Dubai the following day at 05:25, a flying time of 11 hours 15 minutes.
