Etihad Airways has presented the England Cricket team with their personal Etihad Guest Gold cards, giving the players exclusive benefits and rewards from the airline’s award-winning loyalty program.
The Abu Dhabi-based airline, official airline partner of the England and Wales Cricket Board, gave captain Alastair Cook and the England players the coveted Gold cards before the team set off on their tour to Sri Lanka.
The presentation was made by Clive Wratten, Etihad Airways’ UK general manager, in the historic Writing Room at the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London.
Wratten said: “We’re delighted to fly Alastair and his England teammates on their overseas tours, starting with the One Day series in Sri Lanka.
“As Etihad Guest Gold card holders, the team can look forward to an extra special travel experience with unrivalled benefits on every Etihad Airways flight.”
The Etihad Guest Gold card provides holders with 50 per cent extra Etihad Guest Miles on every flight, exclusive Gold tier rewards, Business Class lounge access, priority check-in and boarding, and fast-track immigration and baggage, amongst many other benefits.
The partnership with the ECB was launched in July 2014 and means England’s national teams, including men, women, age-group and disability cricket, fly with Etihad Airways.
Etihad Airways flies three times a day from London Heathrow and double daily from Manchester to its home base of Abu Dhabi, with onward services to destinations across Africa, Indian Subcontinent and Asia.
