ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — One of Universal's Islands of Adventure most popular attractions is shutting down next month for renovations.
The theme park recently announced on its website that The Incredible Hulk rollercoaster is closing down the day after Labor Day — Sept. 8 — and reopening sometime next summer. The bright green Hulk, named after the Marvel Comics character, is undergoing some new enhancements and improvements to its ride vehicles.
The Hulk has been at Universal since opening in 1999. It features seven inversions, a 100-foot drop and top speeds of nearly 70 miles per hour.
