msc seasideCruise lines released a flurry of new itineraries this week for 2017 and beyond.

December 2017 will see the launch of the new MSC Seaside, the first ship in MSC Cruises‘ new Seaside class. MSC Cruises opened sales on the new ship to MSC Voyager Club Members this week. The ship, which is currently under construction at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, will sail year-round from Miami on a range of seven-night Caribbean itineraries. Stops in the Eastern Caribbean will include St. Thomas, the Bahamas and Puerto Rico, while guests visiting the Western Caribbean will call at Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Cozumel, and the Bahamas. The first sailing will be the Christmas cruise of December 21, 2017.

Celebrity Cruises finished announcing its full lineup of 2017 and 2018 itineraries this week. It began the process last with with a list of Celebrity’s new Europe cruise itineraries. This week, the line followed up with the announcement of new itineraries in Caribbean and South America and new cruises in Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

Also this week Crystal Cruises announced it will reposition Crystal Serenity in North and South America in 2017. Following the 2017 “Southern Celebración” World Cruise roundtrip from Miami, the ship will sail throughout North America for the remainder of the year, offering routes along the East and West Coasts, through Alaska, New England and Eastern Canada, as well as the eastern seaboard into the Caribbean. The line said its new expansion project afforded the opportunity for the new North and South American itineraries.

Norwegian Cruise Line announced its deployment schedule for its summer 2017 North America, Bahamas and Bermuda itineraries, which go on sale December 22, 2015, for Latitudes Rewards guests and travel partners and on December 23, 2015, for all bookings. The line said it plans to sail three ships in Alaska on longer itineraries (ranging from seven to 14 nights). The refurbished Norwegian Gem will sail seven-day Bahamas and Florida cruises, as well as two summer Canada and New England roundtrip cruises. Norwegian Sky will offer three- and four-day cruises to the Bahamas year-round from Miami departing Fridays and Mondays, with free unlimited beer, wine and premium spirits included.

In small ship news, Ponant announced its lineup of destinations for its winter 2016 and 2017 cruise collection of Caribbean, Latin America, Pacific, Asia and Antarctic cruises. March 2017 will see a new itinerary from Cape Horn to the Cape of Good Hope. In the Indian Ocean, the line will explore Les Îles Éparse, four small French islands stretching along the Mozambique Channel, which have been a nature reserve since 1975, as well as Alphonse, La Digue and Victoria in the Seychelles.
