wineThe San Francisco Wine School will be holding a “3-Day Intensive” credential program at The Signature in MGM Grand in Las Vegas, March 27-29.

The California Wine Appellation Specialist (CWAS) certification was created by founder David Glancy, and is the first and only professional credential program on California wine. The program is typically taught over nine weeks in the San Francisco Bay Area.

“Competition in the wine industry is only getting more intense, and education will set you apart,” said Glancy, master sommelier and certified wine educator. He will be instructing the program along with special guest Joe Phillips, director of wine education at Southern Wine & Spirits of Nevada.

The CWAS “3-Day Intensive” will include guided, blind tastings of more than 60 wines. It will also cover topics like California wine history and production, and examine the various climates, soils, and grapes of each region. In total, the program will include 22 hours of instruction, with a credential exam available online afterwards.
