This September, the American Queen Steamboat Company will host two Big Band Voyages featuring local St. Louis artists and jazz musicians.
The first cruise will depart from St. Paul on September 5 and arrive in St. Louis on September 13. The second trip will have the reverse itinerary, departing from St. Louis on September 12 and arriving in St. Paul on September 20.
Both cruises feature nightly swing dances, performances by the 13-piece Great American Swing Band, historian lectures and special guest vocalists like Lynn Roberts, Harry James and Doc Severinsen, who will share stories about their musical inspirations, world tours and more. The Big Swing Voyages also include pre-cruise hotel stays in both departure cities, land tours in Red Wing, Missouri; La Crosse, Wisconsin; and Dubuque, Bettendorf and Burlington, Iowa.
The nine-day musical voyages begin at $1,499 per person and $1,999 for singles or staterooms.
