DALLAS (AP) — Southwest Airlines Co. has reached a deal with United Airlines to use two more gates at Dallas Love Field and expand nonstop service.
Southwest will control 18 of the 20 gates at Love Field as part of the sublease with United. Terms weren't immediately released.
Southwest, with the additional gates, also announced plans for daily nonstop flights to nine new cities from Dallas, including Milwaukee, Seattle and Memphis, Tennessee.
A longtime federal law known as the Wright Amendment, which limited nonstop flights from Love Field, expired in mid-October. That has led to a surge in passenger traffic at Love Field, which is Southwest's home airport.
Southwest on Friday said details on the additional flights and a full list of the cities and fares will be announced soon.
