Viceroy Maldives has revealed appointment of Joachim Schuette as its new general manager, succeeding Mark Sterner.
Schuette joins Viceroy Maldives following his pre-opening general manager position at Velaa Private Reserve Island in the Maldives.
Prior to that Schuette was with Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts for thirteen years moving from resident manager to general manager, including four years in the corporate office as their director of development.
A veteran of the hospitality industry with over twenty years’ experience, Schuette began his career in his home country of Germany followed by hotel appointments in Zurich, Jeddah, Kuala Lumpur, Bali, Cairo, Qindao in China, Jakarta, Maldives, Chennai and the Philippines.
Commenting on his appointment, Schuette said: “I am so excited to have returned to the Indian Ocean, to join such a dynamic team of dedicated and talented individuals at Viceroy Maldives.

“Now just over two years young, and well established in the region, we have lots of exiting plans on the 2015 horizon, I am delighted to be part of this journey.”
