Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas set sail this past weekend after a 24-day refit at Grand Bahama Shipyard.
The ship received 67 new Panoramic Ocean View staterooms. The new rooms, atop the front of the ship, have floor-to-ceiling windows. Other renovation touches include all new furnishings throughout the ship and the R Bar lounge, which has a retro-chic vibe. Also, guests can choose from nine dining options, ranging from The New American Steakhouse to Johnny Rockets, a burger joint.
Freedom of the Seas sails from Port Canaveral, and offers guests either a seven-day Eastern Caribbean experience or seven-day Western Caribbean experience. The eastern route calls at St. Thomas, St. Maarteen and CocoCay, the cruise line’s private island. The western route calls at Falmouth, Jamaica, George Town, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Mexico and Labadee, Haiti, another one of the line's private islands.
