On Thursday, June 25, Princess Cruises and the International Maritime Organization will celebrate the 5th Annual Day of the Seafarer, which observes the dedication and service of millions of seafarers around the globe.
During Thursday’s events, guests will have the chance to raise money for their favorite ship staff in honor of the holiday. Princess Cruises Community Foundation also pledges to match up to $10,000 of auction proceeds.
Princess Cruises hosts charity auctions on all of its cruise ships to support local organizations. Popular charity houses include ports of call in Seattle, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles and internationally recognized organizations in Southampton, England.
Aside from getting the opportunity to raise money for a good cause, guests on the Southampton trip will get to explore southern England’s historical sites and countryside. In London, travelers will tour Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the Parliament Buildings and ride on the London Eye. Down the River Thames, guests will visit Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and Salisbury. Day trips start at $79.95 per person.
