Pleasant Holidays recently hosted its first Elite Experience incentive trip honoring the top performing travel agents for 2014 in Los Cabos, Mexico, at the recently-opened Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort from December 4 to 7. Over 100 people, including travel agents and their guests and supplier partners, participated in the trip.

While there participants had a chance to view firsthand the destination's recovery from Hurricane Odile.

“I really appreciated the time in Cabo,” said Alex Sharpe, president and CEO, Signature Travel Network. “I thought that the city did a great job in rebuilding so quickly and the people of Mexico have always been so warm and welcoming, and now, even more so. As I tweeted out while I was there…Cabo is indeed back!”

Cece Drummond, director of tour products, CTA, said, “This was my first trip to Los Cabos so I can’t compare too much, but it certainly is an ideal vacation spot with spectacular beaches, diverse terrain and marvelous people. The area still has some work ahead in terms of returning to pre-Odile days, but I’m confident that the island’s resilient residents will continue to rebuild and attract more tourists in the New Year.”

“While in Cabo attending Best of the Best I was incredibly impressed to see the very hard work everyone has put into the island’s recovery,” said Kate Murphy, president, CTA. “Wherever there is damage, there are people building and hammering away to make sure it comes back even better than before. The resorts that are open are just beautiful and the people are very warm and welcoming and so happy to be serving their clients again.”

Guests of Pleasant Holidays Elite Experience enjoyed roundtrip airfare from their home gateway to Los Cabos, Mexico; airport transfers in destination; private, luxury all-suite accommodations; and leisure time to explore and indulge in various pursuits, including golf, ziplining, spa treatments, water sports, cooking classes and cultural activities that give them a true taste of Los Cabos. Evening events included a Welcome Reception, a dinner event at Fiesta Americana Grand Los Cabos All Inclusive Golf & Spa, and a Cirque du Soleil Farewell Extravaganza on the final night. Agents also had the opportunity to extend their stay in Los Cabos at partner resorts, including Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort and Sandos Finisterra Los Cabos All Inclusive Resort.

In addition to their guests, agents were  joined by Pleasant Holidays team members, including Jack Richards, president and CEO; Kimberly Daley, senior vice president sales strategy; Jeff Pettus, senior director of sales; Chanda Vudmaska, director national accounts sales; and Yolanda Ramirez, product director Mexico and Latin America. Business development managers attending included Judy Koziel for the Midwest region, Krystyna Sanson for the Southeast region, Kristin Romitti for the Eastern region and Megan Gillespie representing the Western region.
