Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide is opening a new Element hotel in Detroit.
A 110-room hotel is planned to open in Detroit’s Metropolitan Building in July 2018. The upcoming hotel will be known as the Element Detroit at the Metropolitan Building, and will be owned and developed by Metropolitan Hotel Partners, a joint venture between the Means Group of Detroit and the Roxbury Group.
The hotel is being designed with extended-stay guests in mind, specifically with larger than average closets, kitchens in guestrooms and an extra room for visitors. The hotel will also have 2,000 square feet of meeting space on its second floor mezzanine level and roughly 7,000 square feet of retail on the ground floor and lower levels.
