Continuing apace with its expansion strategy, Maritim Hotels has revealed plans for a brand new hotel in Amsterdam.

The 579 bedroom and suite hotel will be known at the Maritim Hotel Amsterdam.

Located in the trendy downtown district of Overhoeks, on the banks of River IJ, the hotel promises to change the skyline of this cosmopolitan city.

The 34 floor hotel will be the tallest hotel in Amsterdam, with the view from the top taking in the old city and famous port.

Making the most of its height, the property will boast a spectacular Sky Bar and a spacious VIP Lounge, dedicated to special events, on the top floor.

The Maritim Hotel Amsterdam will also be the largest conference hotel in Holland, with the provision of a vast conference room for up to 4,750 delegates, as well as other large conference rooms with the option to host 2,300 delegates and 1,300 delegates.

The property also offers an additional 17 small conference rooms and six private business offices.

Each of 579 bedrooms and suites will be good sizes, with the prestigious President Suite reaching an impressive 340 sq metres in size.

The hotel will enjoy an exceptional spa with a whole floor dedicated to the leisure facilities, including swimming pool, sauna, steam room and modern gymnasium, as well as the open roof terrace, perfect for a relaxing drink.

With three restaurants; a Sushi Bar, Tapas Bar and international buffet restaurant, and two bars, guests will be impressed with the food and beverage offering at the Maritim Hotel Amsterdam.

What sets the Maritim Hotel Amsterdam apart is its location, close to the main railway station on the old Shell headquarters.

With guests in mind, Maritim will operate a 24 hour complimentary boat-shuttle from the main railway station to the hotel, enhancing the guest experience, whether that is business or leisure.

For those driving, the property also presents plenty of city centre car parking with 450 spaces.

Director of International Sales for Maritim Hotels, Mark Spivey, commented: “We are thrilled to unveil our plans for a First Class Deluxe hotel in Amsterdam, our first hotel in Holland.

“The Maritim Hotel Amsterdam will be expertly designed by architect office ‘Team V’ who have been briefed to create a modern, stylish and sophisticated hotel, suited to one of Europe’s key metropoles.

“As the highest hotel in Amsterdam and the largest conference and events hotel in Holland, coupled with Maritim’s excellent levels of service quality and customer care, we are confident the Maritim Hotel Amsterdam will quickly become a distinctive meeting place in the city for both business and leisure guests.”

The Maritim Hotel Amsterdam is scheduled to open in 2018.
