A limited number of early release tickets for the Mayor of London's New Year's Eve fireworks celebrations will be made available in June to visitors from the UK and abroad.

The early release of tickets will be available to the public from midday UK time on June 19 at £10 per person, which covers printing, infrastructure and other costs associated with ticketing. The main batch of tickets will be released in September.

Ticketing for London’s New Year’s Eve fireworks was brought in for the first time last year to help manage ever-increasing crowd numbers heading into central London for the annual celebration. Anyone without a ticket will not be able to get into this year's event. Since 2003 the number of people wanting to watch the display had grown from about 100,000 to more than half a million in 2013.

Following the introduction of ticketing, on December 31, 2014, crowds were estimated to have been reduced significantly from 500,000 in 2013 to less than 350,000.
