La Compagnie, the all-business-class airline that currently offers service between New York and Paris, has announced the launch of a new route between New York and London, with the first flight scheduled to depart on Friday, April 24 this year. Bonus: Travelers to London can take advantage of a limited-time Special Inaugural Airfare of $1,007 round-trip per person, for travel through June 30.
La Compagnie will operate four times weekly with plans to increase service to six times weekly by June out of Newark International Airport's (EWR) Terminal B, with flights departing at 10:20PM and arriving in London's Luton Airport (LTN) at 10:30AM the following morning. The flights departing Luton Airport will be offered at 5:45pm from Terminal 1, with a same-day arrival in Newark at 9:00pm. The airfare will continue to be offered in three fare levels, Full Flex, Semi-Flex and Best-Buy, and has plans to increase service to six times weekly by June.
A little more than 30 miles north of London's city center, London Luton Airport is in the middle of a $110 million transformation intended to expand and modernize the terminal building. New shopping and dining options will be added along with a new executive lounge, new parking facilities and rail links. The transformation is expected to increase annual passenger capacity from last year's record 10.5 million to 18 million by 2026.
La Compagnie's two Boeing 757-200s have 74 “lie-flat” seats in a 2×2 configuration. Inflight amenities include Samsung Galaxy Tablets preloaded with movies, newspapers, games and books; Caudalie cosmetic amenity kits and dining services created by Michelin-starred Chef Christophe Langrée, accompanied by fine cheeses, premium liquors, and French wines.
