Hawaii specialists who weren't too distracted by the gorgeous models may have noticed a familiar background when flipping through the pages of the 2015 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
That's because Kauai, Hawaii was one of the locations showcased in sports magazine's most popular issue of the year. Shooting began around April in various locations around the island, including Kee Beach, Kekeha Beach and Mahaulepu Beach.
But if you haven't seen the issue yet and would rather check out the gorgeous shots on television, be sure to tune in to the Travel Channel this Sunday at 9 p.m. for the making of the issue.
According to the episode's synopsis, “Sports Illustrated kicks off their ‘Made in the USA' shoot in Kauai, HI, where the crew must face Mother Nature in a battle for the perfect magazine cover. The models fight the wind and rain to find the perfect light.”
Throughout the five-part program, “SI: The Making of Swimsuit 2015,” viewers will go on location and into closed sets, where photographers of SI capture some of the world's most beautiful women.
Hosted by Nina Agdal, the 2014 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover model, Travel Channel’s “BeachWeek” rus from Sunday through Thursday, February 19. The five-day multi-platform programming event will be stacked with sunny beaches.
