As summer in the Hawaiian Islands winds down, the Hawaii Convention Center (HCC)‘s “Sunset Mele on the Rooftop” is in full swing with the next event of the free, monthly entertainment series scheduled for Sunday, September 6, the day before Labor Day.
Resident and visiting Oahu families are invited to enjoy a full evening of entertainment, sponsored by Lyon Associates, featuring live performances by Hawaii musicians Kuikahi and John Feary, a screening of the feature film, “The Lego Movie,” and keiki activities in the HCC’s air-conditioned ballroom beginning at 5 p.m.
“We’re pleased to be able to continue providing a fun, safe and affordable event for the local and visitor communities,” said Teri Orton, HCC’s general manager, in a written release. “We know many families will spend the Labor Day weekend outdoors exploring our beautiful island, and Sunset Mele on the Rooftop is a great way to unwind and cool down after a long day out in the sun.”
HCC’s in-house culinary team will be serving up popcorn, hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos and bentos. Additional vendors at the Sunset Mele Market Place will offer snacks, beverages, and arts and crafts for sale.
Admission to Sunset Mele on the Rooftop is free. Parking at the Hawaii Convention Center for the event is $5 per vehicle. Outside food, beverages and coolers will not be allowed.
The HCC-hosted “Sunset Mele on the Rooftop” entertainment series will continue monthly through the end of the year with the next event scheduled for Saturday, October 31. Each month will feature a new entertainment lineup.
