Recently Travel Agent got a chance to sail onboard the Viking Star, the first ship from Viking Ocean Cruises. We've already had a chance to show off our stateroom, plus the ship's relaxing Living Room hub. Here we take a look at the new ship's Viking Spa.
The spa experience on the new ship was reinvented in the holistic wellness philosophy of Nordic culture. A Snow Grotto, where snowflakes gently descend from the ceiling through chilled air, aims at stimulating guests' circulatory systems before a trip to the sauna. There is also a hydrotherapy pool, as well as materials inspired by Scandinavian nature: Swedish limestone and black slate; juniper and teak wood details; recycled and etched opaque glass; and cast iron.
