Boston Park PlazaBoston Park Plaza has announced the completion of a major $100 million renovation and restoration project, which included the redesign of its 1,060 guestrooms and corridors, main entrances and lobby, meeting spaces, mezzanine levels, a new library room and the replacement of all furniture and fixtures.

New high-end amenities offered at the hotel include STRIP by Strega, a 5,700-square–foot steakhouse concept by Boston-based restaurateur Nick Varano; DavidBartonGym and Cyc Fitness Boston, a 20,000-square-foot state-of-the-art fitness center that includes complimentary gym access for hotel guests, along with a range of paid fitness classes. An on-site FedEx Business Center provides premium printing, packing and shipping from the hotel’s mezzanine level, and later in 2016, Starbucks will open a 2,500 square-foot store at the location. Leica Camera will also occupy over 3,000 square feet with a Leica Store and a Leica Gallery situated in the hotel lobby.

Through the renovation, Boston Park Plaza also gained an additional 6,000 square feet of updated professional meeting and pre-function space, bringing its total to 50,480 square feet. The hotel’s ballroom has also been updated with a new charcoal and ivory color scheme.

Designed by Sudbury, Massachusetts-based Parker Torres Design, Inc., the new lobby of the Boston Park Plaza has a gray and white color palette, floor-to-ceiling columns encased in ceramic, new flooring, adjustable LED lighting and updated guest check-in stations. Located within the renovated lobby area is Off The Common, a new restaurant and lounge offering a contemporary setting for guests to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, light bites and drinks. There is also a newly added library room that can serve as a shared workspace, reading area, or social space.

Guestrooms and suites were refurnished with new lighting, improved acoustics and a color scheme of charcoal, caramel and camel tones which complement the stone-topped wooden cabinetry, upholstered headboards and carpeting. Renovated bathrooms are fixed with white tile, custom vanities, over-sized mirrors and large porcelain tile flooring. Additionally, each room’s crown molding has been fully refinished in order to preserve design elements that pair with the hotel’s new appearance. New technology enhancements include the addition of Smart TVs with streaming capabilities via SoniCast (powered by Chromecast), allowing guests to sync their mobile devices to the TV and customize video content.

Since purchasing the property, Sunstone Hotel Investors, Inc. has performed a series of renovations to repair and restore all structural elements at the hotel, which includes replacing the roof; repairing the exterior façade; replacing sidewalk surrounds; replacing the hotel’s two-story decorative windows; modernization of the elevator systems; and the installation of an updated HVAC system that provides individual climate control for every guestroom, meeting space and common area.

Boston Park Plaza has also been selected by Preferred Hotels & Resorts to be the newest experience available within its Lifestyle Collection.
