The world renowned Belfry Hotel & Resort has appointed James Stewart as their new resort director as of March 2016. Following an extremely successful 2015 for The Belfry, Stewart’s appointment comes at a very exciting time for the resort as it looks to cement its leading position within the hospitality industry.
Stewart has had an exciting and progressive career in Hotels and Golf Resorts across the UK. Following his senior roles with Forte Hotels as Regional General Manager, Stewart has also worked as Resort Managing Director most notably for Bowood Hotel Spa & Golf Resort and Mottram Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort.
Upon the announcement, Stewart commented “It is a huge honour for me to have been appointed Resort Director at a venue as iconic and prestigious as The Belfry. The professional team and world class facilities on offer here at The Belfry make this a truly exciting opportunity and I look forward to being part of a very promising future for the resort.”
Having been crowned England’s Leading Resort last year at the World Travel Awards, for 2016 The Belfry has been nominated for three awards; England’s Leading Resort once again, Europe’s Leading Resort and England’s Leading Conference Hotel. Under Stewart’s leadership, the resort is certainly in a very strong position to receive yet more accolades at this year’s event in August.
Having hosted the Ryder Cup on a record 4 occasions, The Belfry is famous the world over as a golf haven with its 3 courses and golf academy. Set in over 500 acres of West Midlands countryside, the resort also boasts 319 signature bedrooms, 14 luxury suites, a Spa and Health Club, a significant gastronomy offering, sophisticated bars and an on-site nightclub.
