Courchevel Airbnb

Calling all ski bunnies: Airbnb is offering up the chance to spend a night in a decked-out cable car high above Courchevel, a full 9,000 feet over the Combe de Saulire peak. And no, you won’t be sleeping on metal benches surrounded by ski racks—Airbnb has outfitted the cable car with sheepskin rugs, a plush queen sized bed, and even fresh flowers. The only remaining clues you’re in a gondola are the rubber floors and metal ceiling (though even that’s spruced up with giant snowflake appliques).

The biggest draw is the experience itself: unrivaled views of the surrounding mountains (and starry night skies), first tracks down Courchevel’s legendary runs, and a Savoyard dinner (complete with mulled wine) enjoyed from high above.

Courchevel Airbnb

Can’t get to Courchevel? Airbnb’s “A Night At” initiative offers access to unusual hideaways every couple of months—this stunt follows overnights in the Gallery Lafayette, in Paris, as well as a retrofitted KLM plane in Amsterdam. As with the program’s previous incarnations, guests who want to reserve their stay will have to beat out the competition—applications are being accepted now through February 25, and the winner gets a one night stay for four, airfare included.
