Abercrombie and Kent is adding Cuba: Across the Island, a second itinerary for its People to People educational exchange programs. The 13-day tour highlights the island from the city of Holguin in the east ending in the capital of Havana in the west.
Along the way guests will meet with local farmers, learn about the Cuban revolution, visit a local school and more. In Holguin artists will perform at the Neon Puppet Theater, and guests will meet the director. Music is an important part of any culture, and travelers will be encouraged to speak to local musicians at the Buena Vista Social Club concert and enjoy salsa dancing. On day seven the group will visit a rodeo, where there will be carriage rides and a discussion with local cattle ranchers. Then it’s off to meet with local community and religious leaders before guests hit the field to play a popular Cuban pastime—baseball.
Abercrombie and Kent also offer a 10-day Cuban experience, Cuba: People to People. This trip takes guests through historic areas of Havana and also provides opportunities to meet local residents.
Tour options start from $5,659.
