Are you planning to travel because you are badly in need of a vacation? Well, look no further. The destination that you have been looking for may already be sitting right next to your state. Want to know one of the best for the year 2017? It’s Savanna Georgia!
According to TripAdvisor, this is one of among the top 25 travel destinations in America.
What were the criteria used for the rankings? The researchers gathered and then analyzed the millions of reviews that came in for hotels, restaurants, and the attractions for the over a period of 12 months. The scorecards gave Savanna a sweet spot at the 16th place.
Some attributed this to the city’s various museums and other historical sites. Results showed that this was also given plus points for its period architecture, yummy fresh seafood, and oak-lined roads. The website also revealed that many of the travelling tourists who visit the place want to see the Forsyth Park, the Bonaventure Cemetery, and The Waving Girl Statue.
The first place was awarded to New York City followed by some places in Hawaii for the second, third, and fourth places.
And there may be more reason to visit Savannah Georgia other than the tourist attractions mentioned earlier. According to Southern Living, there are two shops in Georgia recognized as the best shops in the South. These are supposedly known for handpicked goods. The top place went to none other than The Paris Market & Brocante.
The Southern Living described The Paris Market as being the community’s favorite because it was able to blend together Southern hospitality with European aesthetics. They also described how there are so many things that one can do in here such as scooping lavender buds, shopping for aromatherapy candles, or just admiring French antiques.
The fourth place is also a Savanna shop – the ShopSCAD, which is a unique retail gallery. According to the shop’s website, some of the works featured in here come from the Savannah College of Art and Design community.
