According to the global consulting firm Nomad Capitalist, the Australian passport is considered the top 16th most valuable in the world. They considered a roster of 199 countries and considered the value of their citizenship.
Australia was tied side-by-side with United Kingdom. The reason for being at the top? The country scored positively in dual citizenship, freedom, and perception. The firm says that Australian citizens are highly regarded internationally, can hold other citizenships in most cases, and may be considered the most free, which sets them apart from the rest of the world.
Nomad Capitalist also considered visa-free travel and taxation among others. Did you know that Australians can get travel to 169 countries visa free? This fact is responsible for the 50% of the country’s ranking. The highest went to Germany, where their passport allows its citizens a visa-free access to 177 other countries.
Which country ranked first place? Nomad Capitalist says that Sweden bested the other countries, which they say have the most valuable passport. How did it fare? This was impressive in terms of visa-free access. The Swedish are allowed to travel to 176 countries without the need for a visa. Just like Australians, they also have an excellent reputation overseas, can hold dual or even multiple citizenships, and have a lot of freedom. If they wanted to avoid Swedish taxation, all they needed to do was move to another country.
