Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has announced the Europa 2 will sail to Cuba for the first time on two itineraries in October and November.
On these sailings the ship will call at Havana, Santiago de Cuba, Cienfuegos and Isla de la Juventud. Guests will get a chance to check out a city tour of Santiago de Cuba, take a salsa course for beginners in Cienfuegos and visit El Floridita, Hemingway's favorite bar. There will also be the chance to take in live music at Casa de la Musica and visit the Variete Tropicana.
The itinerary will also visit St. Lucia, St. Martin, the British Virgin Islands, Ocho Rios and Montego Bay in Jamaica, as well as Aruba and Curacao, with notable excursions including a cable-car ride through the tropical jungle in Marigot Bay, a ride in a semi-submarine in Gustavia and a kayak tour on the Great River on Aruba.
The 12-day cruise from La Guaria to Havana will depart October 24, with rates starting from $8,870 per person, cruise only. The 12-day cruise from Havana to Colon will depart November 5 with rates from $9,470 per person, cruise only.
