European Waterways is reporting strong bookings for its tulip cruises in Holland for spring 2016. According to European Waterways Managing Director Derek Banks, those cruises are over 80 percent sold out on the Panache.
Spring departures aboard the 12-passenger Panache begin March 27, with six-night cruises every week through May 8. European Waterways is also waiving single supplements for the April 3 and April 24 departures. In addition to the fields of flowering bulbs which cover Holland at this time of year, excursions include the Keukenhof Gardens, which treats visitors to 100 acres of flowering bulbs that have earned it the designation of “the Garden of Europe.” In 2016, Keukenhof will be celebrating its 67th year with the theme of “Golden Age,” reflecting the park’s growth into a world famous attraction.
Cruises aboard Panache also include a visit to the Aalsmeer flower auction, where some 17 million cut flowers are traded every day. Guests can also tour the Royal Delft factory to see porcelain being handmade and painted. Other cruise highlights include the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem, where guests will see its unique collection of Old Dutch Masters, and a visit to the historic city of Leiden, Rembrandt’s birthplace.
Prices include all gourmet meals, fine wines, a champagne welcome, an open bar, all escorted excursions and admittance fees, opportunities for independent bicycle exploration and the use of other hotel barge facilities such as a spa pool. European Waterways gives travel agents a minimum of 10 percent commission on all bookings.
