Ritz-Carlton has announced plans for two new hotels: The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui in Thailand and the Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Niseko Village in Japan.
Home to the largest ski resort in Japan, The New York Times recently listed Niseko as one of the top 20 places to visit in the world. The new Ritz-Carlton Reserve in the area will be the company's first in Japan when it opens in 2020.
The resort will be located at the heart of the all-season Niseko Village, offering views of Mount Yotei (also known as Ezo Fuji for its resemblence to Mt. Fuji), as well as ski slopes renowned for their dry champagne powder snow.
The Ritz-Carlton, Koh Samui will open in the Plai Laem region on the island's northern tip. It will have approximately 187 guestrooms and pool villas, along with dining, wellness and beach amenities.
