AccorHotels has announced it has entered into a commercial agreement with Amaris Hospitality to manage 11 hotels under Mercure, the leading midscale brand in the UK.
The hotels are located in Aberdeen, Bristol, Exeter, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Daventry, Haydock, St Albans, Brands Hatch and Walton and will complete integration by the end of this year.
Thomas Dubaere, managing director AccorHotels UK & Ireland said: “The signing of this significant number of hotels further demonstrates the ability of AccorHotels to grow its presence in the UK and build on our leadership position, while proving our commitment to the midscale sector, as we continue to push towards our target of 300 hotels in the UK and Ireland.
“Our leading brands, strong regional network, flexible approach to properties and locally inspired designs ensure we are the best option for partners wishing to work with a major hotel operator.”
These hotels will benefit enormously from joining AccorHotels’ powerful distribution network and be part of its market changing digital and technical offering which was set out in July and will offer a wide range of digital solutions to all its partners.
These additional properties significantly increase AccorHotel’s UK network to 217 hotels of which 84 are under the Mercure name.
John Brennan, chief executive, Amaris Hospitality added: “Our decision to rebrand these hotels under the AccorHotels brand forms a key part of Amaris Hospitality’s strategy and plans for the future and builds on our existing portfolio bringing the total number of AccorHotels branded hotels owned by Amaris Hospitality to 32.
“Mercure are a well-known international brand for both business and leisure travellers alike and we are delighted that these hotels will now have the opportunity to carry such a prestigious brand.
“The exceptional dedication and excellence of our existing staff will only serve to complement this decision as we look forward to their continued performance.”
