Carnival Cruise Line has announced it is expanding its trade sales and marketing team to include a new trade events team. The addition will increase the line’s presence at cruise industry tradeshows, conferences, agent trainings and recognition events.
“By creating a team dedicated to trade events and programs, we’re further bolstering our already strong presence at these types of agent events and engaging with thousands of agents each year,” said Adolfo Perez, Carnival’s vice president of trade sales and marketing.
Perez also reported that the company is on track to reach 40,000 travel agents through its Carnival Conversations program and other industry events by the end of the year.
The new effort will be led by Mia Landrin, who has been named trade events and programs manager, and will be responsible for overseeing the line’s expanded agent interaction. Landrin has more than 15 years of event experience and has led highly visible initiatives including NASCAR sponsorships, brand-building opportunities for M&M’s/Mars Inc., and cause-related marketing for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami. She most recently served as Carnival’s brand manager for youth activities, where she was responsible for developing programs and activities for the line’s on-board teen program.
Carnival is a unit of Carnival Corporation & plc, and operates a fleet of 24 ships traveling throughout The Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, New England, Bermuda, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.
