Departing on September 5, Adventure Canada’s Out of the Northwest Passage Expedition will explore the oceans of the Arctic. Travelers will sail from Nunavut to Greenland with an expert staff, including a photographer, historian and geologist, who will teach guests more about the history and science of the Arctic region.
The trip begins in Kugluktuk Coppermine, where travelers will get the chance to experience indigenous wildlife, including Arctic trees, caribou, foxes, wolverines and grizzly bears. The trip will then continue on to Victoria Island and Prince Leopold Island, where guests will learn the history of Sir James Clark Ross’ expedition in 1849. In Greenland, guests will be able to experience the northernmost civilian habitation on earth, the landscape of the fjords and discover the unique nature around them. The 16-day trip starts at $8,995 per person and includes park entry, shipboard meals, Zodiac excursions, educational programs and service fees.
Also joining the expedition this year will be critically-acclaimed author Margaret Atwood, who will help passengers spot and identify Arctic bird species while onboard.
