National Geographic OrionLindblad Expeditions-National Geographic just announced its new Europe 2.0 program, a series of 22 weeks of curated eight day itineraries throughout Europe beginning in April 2016.

The focus of the program is to “slow down and not cover huge distances” with trips that have been designed for guests to experience each destination more actively. Guests will enjoy behind-the-scenes visits, dining experiences, concerts and performances, and activities throughout 20 different countries.

Travelers will also have access to a variety of unique experiences presented by an onboard concierge. Activities will include vineyard tours, hikes, cycling trips, and off road treks. Historians and regional experts will provide a perspective on each region, and there will be an onboard National Geographic photographer to help guests improve their skills as well as music provided by Jacob Edgar.

The eight-day itineraries include:

Portugal and Spain: From the Algarve to Catalonia

Mediterranean Isles: Sardinia, Corsica and Menorca

– Culture and Cuisine: Oporto to Basque Country

Bordeaux to London: The French Atlantic Coast

– Wild and Windswept: The Coasts of England & Wales

– Hidden Ireland: Loughs and Isles Off The Beaten Path

– The North Sea: London to Copenhagen

Norway and Scotland: Fjordlands to the Inner Hebrides

Scandinavia by Sea: Denmark, Sweden and Norway

– Baltic Archipelagos: Islands of Denmark, Sweden & Finland

– Best of the Baltics: Cities & Islands from Tallinn to Copenhagen

The voyages are set aboard the National Geographic Orion, the smallest luxury ship sailing through Europe’s coastlines and waterways. It is also the only vessel traveling in Europe with a fleet of bikes and kayaks onboard.

Prices for each itinerary begin at $7,990 per person based on double occupancy in a category-one cabin and includes all daily activities (except scuba diving), bar tab and crew tips.  Guests can also book any two or more voyages, in any sequence, and save 10 percent.
