Updated after a $20-million room renovation, The Mayflower hotel in Washington, DC, will join the Autograph Collection, Marriott International's portfolio of independent hotels, as of July 1.
The Mayflower completed its final phase of a top-to-bottom renovation, with all 583 rooms and 74 suites undergoing a makeover. The $20 million project, spearheaded by The Gettys Group design firm, maintained the 10-story hotel’s history while updating its look.
The Mayflower will also offer increased bandwidth for better high-speed access for guests as well as “smart thermostats” with a chip imbedded in the guest’s key card, which communicates with the AC unit when the room is occupied in order to adjust accordingly.
