Daku Resort in Fiji has planned a series of four art weeks, as well as a botanical art workshop, between May and September 2015.
The holiday art courses are taught by experienced Australian artists, and range from acrylics and pastels to travel sketching. Class dates and descriptions are:
– Playing with Pastels (May 23-30): Tricia Taylor will lead students through different approaches to working with the versatile medium
– Landscapes and Seascapes in Oils and Acrylics (June 6-13): Elena Parashko returns to Fiji for her fifth retreat, showing her students how to paint the basic elements of any seascape and landscape in a realistic style
– Acrylics: Discovery Inspiration and Technique (August 15-22): Mark Waller will teach students to look deeply at the world, and revel in the magic that often goes unnoticed
– Travel sketching (September 5-12): Erin Hill will demonstrate how to capture one’s surroundings.
From September 19-26, one of North America‘s top botanical artists, Margaret Best, will be coming to teach a botanical art course that aims to produce depictions that extend beyond mere scientific classifications.
