Oceania Cruises had a record-setting bookings day for its 2016 season last week. The line’s new ship, Sirena, and new itineraries helped to create the record. Sirena, a 684-passenger ship, will enter service on April 27, 2016. Oceania Cruises’ 2016 itinerary collection was also released last week. There are a total of 90 new itineraries, and 50 of these will be extended journeys.
“With the addition of Sirena to the Oceania Cruises fleet we can expand the realm of possibilities and stretch our imagination when it comes to itinerary planning, providing our guests even more options,” said Jason Montague, president and chief operating officer for Oceania Cruises.
Sirena will undergo a refurbishment before sailing 10- to 14-day trips in the Mediterranean. The ship will have specialty dining options, including Toscana and Polo Grill and Terrace Café. The new itineraries include seven Grand Voyages, like a 90-night round-trip from Miami and a 40-night trip from Vancouver to Montreal.
With the addition of Sirena, Oceania now has a six-ship fleet.
