Princeville Makai Golf Club Now Offering Beautiful Sunset Golf Cart Tours

The Princeville Makai Golf Club has introduced Sunset Golf Cart Tours, a fun way for clients to experience the scenic vistas of the famed Makai Golf Course at sunset. Situated on Kauai’s North Shore between the ocean and mountains, the Makai Golf Course offers a beautiful setting, so much so it was named one of the “Top 5 Great Golf Settings in the U.S.” by National Geographic Traveler in 2011. Clients can follow the cart paths meandering through the 18 holes, stop and linger to take photos and watch the sun set over Hanalei Bay. Agents should contact the Princeville Makai Golf Club at 808-826-1863.

Poipu Kapili Offers Beautiful New Wedding Venue

Poipu Kapili is now offering a new wedding space for clients looking to tie the knot. The ocean front wedding lawn offers beautiful views and is ideal for about 50 people. Clients may choose to host their ceremony or dinner reception on the lawn with no site fee if they book condos at Poipu Kapili through Poipu Ocean View Resorts. Experience the Many Tastes of Kauai

Tasting Kauai introduces the many flavors of Kauai through two newly created food tours for some of the best bites on the North Shore and South Shore. The North Shore Kauai Food Tour is a tour of off-the-beaten-path establishments while the South Shore tour is a celebration of street food inspired by Hawaii’s diverse cultures. On the South Shore tour, guests get to taste street tacos, sample tropical gelato while it’s being made and learn about Hawaiian staple foods. Both tours allow for interaction with Kauai farmers, chefs and artisans. Tasting Kauai offers four-hour tours for $120 with up to six tasting stops along the way and expert tour guides. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from all tours benefits the Hawaii Foodbank Kauai Branch. St. Regis Princeville Resort Invites Guests to Restore Kauai’s Native Forests

In partnership with Limahuli Garden and Preserve, a National Tropical Botanical Garden, the St. Regis Princeville Resort is offering clients the opportunity to join in the reforestation of Kauai’s North Shore. For $100, guests can sponsor the planting of a tree to celebrate a honeymoon, anniversary, destination wedding or birthday. Limahuli Garden staff members select the native tree to be planted and provide the sponsor with a personalized certificate in the honoree’s name. Visit www.stregisprinceville.com.

Playing with Sticks at McBryde Garden’s Newest Exhibit

Rising up into the tree canopy is the newest addition to the McBryde Garden – a stick sculpture created by environmental artist Patrick Dougherty. Woven completely from plant materials gathered from the garden, the domed structure resides in a shady spot between a meandering stream and a  view of the gardens. Visitors on McBryde’s self-guided tour can venture inside the 25-foot high, 25-foot wide circular structure, view the swaying branches of tropical trees through the “eye” in the dome, and take in the surrounding vistas through windows woven into the walls. Built through a process the artist calls “playing with sticks,” the new “Birthday Palace” celebrates the 50th anniversary of the nonprofit National Tropical Botanical Garden. Visit www.ntbg.org.

Renovations and Revitalization at Kauai Museum

The Kauai Museum will be undergoing its largest renovation since opening nearly 50 years ago, adding a second level office building complete with an elevator and second level open-air walkways to connect all three buildings. The renovated museum will provide easier access to its upper levels and additional space for educational and research components. The museum will also incorporate indigenous plants into the surrounding landscape and complete a total redesign of the permanent exhibits. Visit www.kauaimuseum.org.
